Why the secrecy over the classified 28 pages from the 9/11 report? by Wayne Madsen

Why the secrecy over the classified 28 pages from the 9/11 report?
by Wayne Madsen

WMR can help explain the insistence of the Obama administration in keeping 28-pages from the U.S. Congress's Joint Inquiry Into Intelligence Community Activities Before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001. The report was issued in December 2002. Since that time, the then-Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Bob Graham (D-FL), has been joined by a bi-partisan group of senators and representatives in calling for the release of the 28 pages. When the report was released in 2003, the Bush administration insisted the 28 pages remain classified. The issue has come up in the 2016 presidential race with Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) calling for the 28 pages to be released while GOP Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey has argued for the pages to remain classified. Christie has even called for Paul to be put on trial in a Joe McCarthy-like witch hunt if there is another terrorist attack on America. Also arguing against release is Representative Peter King (R-NY) who said he has read the 28 pages and believes they must remain classified.

It can be understood why King would take such a position. King was a longtime supporter of funding terrorist groups in Ireland, including the Provisional Wing of the Irish Republican Army (IRA) and the "Real IRA," an even more violent group that carried out a deadly bombing of civilians in Omagh, Northern Ireland in 1998. King's reticence in releasing the 28 pages is understandable since they explain how the 9/11 terrorists were funded through an interwoven network of Saudi bank accounts and secret Muslim financiers, the same sort of network that King used to finance IRA terrorists in Ireland.

WMR has obtained a list of organizations that were investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and were on the National Security Agency's watch list for suspicious money transfers and transactions relating to the 9/11 attacks. The 28-pages remain classified because the Central Intelligence Agency had assigned case officers and "NOCs" -- non-official cover clandestine agents -- to work with officials and employees of many of the organizations on the list. It is the CIA that has objected to the 28-pages being made public because of its involvement with many of the businesses and groups prior to and after 9/11.

Release of the 28 pages has also been stymied by certain proactive congressional members of the Israel Lobby. The reason for that may be explained by the presence on the list of suspicious organizations elements that were involved in supplying airport concessions on 9/11. Many of the supplied concessions are located within the secure parts of airports, including Newark and Dulles International Airports, where two of the four hijacked planes had originated on 9/11. The security applied to airport concessionaires was managed by aviation security companies with links to Israel. One such company, ICTS International, managed the security of Newark and Boston Logan airports on 9/11. As one official who read the 28 pages told WMR on deep background, the embarrassing links to Israel are contained in the footnotes found within the 28 pages.

CIA spent $1 billion to train 60 members of "Free Syrian Army" by Wayne Madsen

CIA spent $1 billion to train 60 members of "Free Syrian Army" by Wayne Madsen
A day after WMR reported on President Obama telling a Pentagon press conference that the United States "is speeding up the training of ISIL forces" in Iraq, seemingly a faux pas, which the Pentagon quickly deleted from the video posted on its website, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the United States has trained only 60 Syrian rebels to fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Syria. It is clear that Obama's woefully honest slip up and Carter's admission that a mere 60 Syrian rebels have been trained provides yet more evidence that the U.S., along with Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar, has been egging on ISIL in an attempt to redraw the borders of the Middle East to harm not only Syria and Iraq, but also Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, and Libya.

The Central Intelligence Agency has spent $1 billion to train so-called "moderate" members of the Free Syrian Army, which means that with a grand total of 60 rebels trained so far, the United States has spent some $16,500,000 million to train each Syrian rebel to date. That is typical "CIA math" which translates to much of the money budgeted to train the virtually non-existent Free Syrian Army going somewhere else via a series of slush funds. That "somewhere else," as indicated by U.S. weapons air drops to ISIL forces in Iraq's western Anbar province and Iraqi Kurdistan, is ISIL. The Israelis and Turks have been caught red-handed supplying ISIL and its allies with military, intelligence, and logistics support in Syria and Iraq. CIA director John Brennan, a former CIA station chief in Riyadh, has consistently supported Saudi objectives in the Middle East, including support for ISIL.

The ISIL steam roller shows no signs of slowing down. ISIL has carried out grisly attacks on Taliban forces in Afghanistan, where the Islamic State has made a pact with the
Hezb-e-Islami forces under the command of Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. The CIA funded Hekmatyar during the mujaheddin war with the Soviets in the 1980s to the tune of a half-billion dollarts a year. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the CIA has spent $1 billion supposedly funding 60 Free Syrian Army rebels with the remainder being siphoned off to train ISIL in camps in Turkey and Jordan.

In 1987, the CIA provided Hekmatyar with short-range missiles that his forces fired into the then-Soviet republic of Tajikistan. With Tajikistan's U.S.-trained OMON Special Forces chief
Colonel Gulmurod Khalimov now a top ISIL field commander, the CIA appears poised, once again, to use Hekmatyar and his forces to launch military attacks into Tajikistan, the home of a major Russian army base. Khalimov also received training in the United States from Blackwater* through its contract with the Department of State's Diplomatic Security/Anti-Terrorism Assistance program. Khalimov has vowed to return to the Tajik capital of Dushanbe to execute President Emomali Rahmon and thereafter return to the United States to "kill Americans" in their cities. The training of Khalimov and other OMON troops, some of whom may have joined Khalimov in ISIL, was a pet project of U.S. ambassador to Tajikistan Susan Elliott, career foreign service officer who was a favorite of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
Susan M. Elliott, Ambassador to Tajikistan
U.S. ambassador to Tajikistan Susan Elliott: Provider of military training to future ISIL commanders

There are now reports that ISIL will, on behalf of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the U.S., target another Arab country that has served as a mediator between the Arab states and Iran. Oman, whose sultan is in ill-health and may be facing a crucial succession, is on alert for a spillover of ISIL operations from neighboring Yemen into its Dhofar province. In the 1960s and 70s, Dhofar was the location of a protracted guerrilla war against Oman by local tribesmen. It now appears that ISIL, with help from the Saudis, Israelis, and others, is trying to re-ignite tribal tensions in Dhofar.

* In September 2010, WMR received a phone list containing the names and numbers of Blackwater employees. Although, the firm has changed its name and ownership, first to Xe Services, and now to Academi, the fact that Blackwater was tied to training individuals who are now threatening to kill Americans abroad and on the streets of American cities has caused us the re-evaluate our original decision to delete the names of the Blackwater personnel when we originally published the list. Since these employees may be witnesses to Blackwater's training of future terrorists, individuals like Khalimov, for example, it is in the public interest that these Blackwater personnel be named, in the very least, as sources of information on Blackwater's training of terrorists who now pose a significant threat to the safety of Americans and others at home and abroad.

Obama says U.S. is "speeding up training of ISIL forces" by Wayne Madsen

July 7-8, 2015 -- Obama says U.S. is "speeding up training of ISIL forces" by Wayne Madsen

President Obama spoke at the Pentagon on July 6 and appeared confused as to who the United States is training in Iraq to confront the jihadist terrorist caliphate forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). WMR has previously reported on the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), under John Brennan, Obama's former counter-terrorism adviser, supplying weapons to ISIL forces in Iraq's Anbar province and in Syria through the auspices of the Al Nusra Front, a group that is also supported logistically and militarily by Israel. Does this all sound confusing? Well, it is also apparently confusing to the Commander-in-Chief, who, flanked by the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stated the following at a Pentagon press conference on the topic of ISIL:

" . . . with the additional steps I ordered last month we're speeding up training of ISIL forces, including volunteers from Sunni tribes in Anbar province."

Obama may have been tired and committed a major verbal faux pas. Or, he has been inundated with so much smoke and mirrors from Brennan on covert CIA support for ISIL in order to align U.S. policy with that of the partnership of Saudi Arabia, Israel, Turkey, and Qatar, Obama may have, in a rare moment of candor, actually told the truth for a change. As WMR suspected, the actual footage of Obama's remarks on the Department of Defense website did not last long. During the evening of July 6, the Pentagon edited Obama's remarks and deleted his embarrassing comment on the U.S. "speeding up training of ISIL forces." However, WMR captured the original audio, which can be heard here.

Obama's slip up, which, at the very least, shows America's inconsistency on combating ISIL in Iraq -- where U.S. planes have been witnessed airdropping military supplies to ISIL forces in Kurdistan and Anbar province -- and Syria -- where the CIA trained forces in Turkey and Jordan who later joined ISIL, has been complemented by an unusual move by Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

Israel's opposition Zionist Union requested a briefing on the ISIL threat to Israel from Tamir Pardo, the chief of Mossad. After Pardo requested permission from Netanyahu to brief the opposition, Netanyahu turned down the request. The Zionist Union's chairwoman, Merav Michaeli, requested that Pardo brief the opposition on ISIL's recent activities in Sinai, including the attack by Wilayat Sinai, ISIL's local branch, on Egyptian security forces in Sinai and the firing of rockets by the guerrilla group into empty desert in southern Israel. Netanyahu understands that allowing Pardo to be questioned by the opposition might yield information about Israel's support for ISIL in Syria and Iraq. Israeli commandos have been witnessed delivering guns and ammunition to ISIL forces in Anbar province.

ISIL has also threatened to dislodge Hamas from power in Gaza, a threat that has played into Israel's hands. By supporting ISIL against Hamas, it further divides the embattled people of Gaza between support for Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad -- all of which oppose ISIL -- and ISIL, which is a creation of Israel, the U.S., Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar for the purpose of destabilizing the entire Middle East in order to defeat Syria, the Shi'a-led government of Iraq, the Houthis of Yemen, and ultimately, Iran.

The fact remains that Netanyahu has called Iran a greater threat to Israel than ISIL and except for lobbing a few rockets into empty desert in southern Israel, a threat to no one, ISIL has never targeted Israel in the same manner that it has launched bloody attacks in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Shi'a towns in eastern Saudi Arabia, France, Tunisia, Afghanistan, and Libya.

Colonel Gulmurod Khalimov, the one-time head of Tajikistan's elite anti-terrorism police force, known as OMON, defected to ISIL and is now one its top field commanders in Syria. Khalimov was trained by U.S. Special Operations forces, Blackwater, and the CIA during a number of official visits to the United States. In addition, Chechens, fresh from combat in Syria and Iraq on behalf of ISIL, have been discovered fighting for Ihor Kolomoisky's Israeli- and neo-Nazi-led mercenary battalions against the pro-Russian forces of Donetsk and Lugansk in Eastern Ukraine. ISIL has declared a holy war on Russia and China, which, along with India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Iran, all targets of ISIL, are meeting at the dual BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Ufa, the capital of the Russian autonomous republic of Bashkortostan, a 38 percent Muslim republic between the Volga River and Ural Mountains.

Rather than send an official to Ufa to coordinate anti-ISIL activities with nations that are actually opposed to the group, President Obama is confused about what side America is on and chooses to isolate Russia internationally and confront both Russia and China militarily. Obama maintains that he is a Christian communicant of the United Church of Christ. However, his thoughts and deeds make him and his CIA pal Brennan appear to be pro-ISIL operatives as each day goes by.
