Dec. 25-26, 2006 -- The enigmatic Italian self-described environmental "security" expert and alleged weapons smuggler and colleague of various right-wing European operatives Mario Scaramella was arrested on Dec. 24 by Italian police in Naples upon his return from a medical examination in London. Scaramella was immediately transported to Rome. As previously reported by WMR, Scaramella's links to various right-wing "intelligence" groups in Italy and abroad have also placed him in the middle of an attempt by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his Russian-Israeli Mafia friends to tarnish current Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi as a "KGB agent." Russian President Vladimir Putin was a collateral target of Russian-Israeli mobster Boris Berezovsky.
The activities of Scaramella and his colleagues are now under a criminal investigation by the Rome prosecutor's office.
The reaction of British and U.S. authorities are also suspicious. Scotland Yard claims that Scaramella's arrest by Italian authorities had nothing to do with the poisoning death of ex-KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko with polonium-210. The FBI, which is also involved in the Litvinenko case, had no comment on the arrest of Scaramella by Italian authorities. There are no indications that Scaramella's top-level connections inside the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) -- a key agency involved in the 9/11 "Ground Zero" probe -- are under any active investigation by the FBI.
The British and American law enforcement reaction comes as no real surprise. Scotland Yard and the FBI take their orders from neo-con elements who are afraid that a possible "dirty bomb" incident prior to the U.S. midterm election could be linked to their vast network in the U.S., Britain, Italy, Eastern Europe, and Israel.
With Scaramella now under arrest in Italy and all investigative roads -- the forged Niger documents, the kidnapping and rendition by U.S. and Italian agents of an Egyptian Imam in Milan, dirty tricks against Prodi, the Pentagon's pre-war connections to Rome-based Iranian Mossad asset Manucher Ghorbanifar, and the U.S. assassination of SISMI deputy chief Nicola Calipari in Baghdad -- now leading to Rome, Italy may hold the key to much more than Scaramella's dubious business dealings. That key may unlock the door of the identities of the actual perpetrators of the 9/11 and other terrorist attacks in London, Madrid, Beslan, Istanbul, and Casablanca.
