Cuban Farmers Fumigate Bush Plan

Havana, Oct 15 (Prensa Latina) In farming cooperative gatherings and countryside meetings, the National Association of Small Farmers of Cuba (ANAP) is debunking the transition plan US President George W. Bush wants to plant in Cuba.

These assemblies are aimed at unmasking every measure the White House has put forward to destroy the Cuban Revolution.

For instance, if Bush's plan were implemented on the island, 65,000 Cuban farmers would immediately lose their lands, as well as 301,000 workers associated to land production associations and 341,000 from urban agriculture.

Free education, health, social assistance and security, in which Cuba has achieved great progress, would be seriously hurt or practically wiped out.

The US blockade of Cuba has caused losses of more than 82 billion dollars.

On November 8th, the United Nations General Assembly will debate a draft resolution, as it has for the past 14 years, that demands the immediate lifting of the US hostile policy against Cuba.
