100 YEARS OF WORKING CLASS SOLIDARITY
Pittsburgh, PA – October 15, 2005 – In one week the Pittsburgh General Membership Branch of the Industrial Workers of the World will mark the union’s 100th anniversary. The celebration recognizes a century of working class solidarity and radical industrial unionism.
The open house will feature:
Labor artwork
100 years of IWW art
Historic displays & current organizing projects
Music by the Raging Grannies and the Pittsburgh Steel Gum Bandits
Free speech soap boxing & labor poetry
Tribute to Joe Hill, the father of modern protest music
Featured speaker will be Mark Damron, chair of the IWW General Executive Board and candidate for General Secretary-Treasurer.
