Art teachers - who can afford them?

It's no secret that art and music programs are being reduced or eliminated all over the United States. We "can't afford such 'luxuries'" here in the richest country in the world. But it isn't a question of wealth. It's a question of priorities:

"The Jose Marti Brigade of Arts Instructors, a vanguard detachment in the mass promotion of a general and comprehensive culture [have now reached the goal of providing] at least one instructor in the 4,898 kindergarten, elementary, junior high, special and senior high schools in the country."

That country? Cuba, where the leader is not above expressing a corny, but no doubt totally heartfelt, sentiment: "Forward, valiant standard bearers of culture and humanism! A life of glory awaits you!"
